Trip Overview

Dhaulagiri, the seventh highest mountain in the world lies south of the Tibet and Nepal border and the highest point which is at the eastern end of the lone summit ridge is Dhaulagiri 1. Dhaulagiri in Sanskrit means “white mountain” and it was first climbed by the Swiss team in 1960 via the North East ridge. It is considered an interesting peak and more than six different routes have been established.

Mountain safety:
Mountain safety is our number one priority at climb High. We will maintain a continual communication with base camp through radios. Climb High will also provide you with Gamo bag (Portable Altitude Chamber bag) and oxygen in case of any emergency (for medical purpose only). Our Dhaulagiri Expedition is supported by strong and experienced Sherpa’s who have been on Lhotse several times. Our Experienced guide and Sherpa’s will, stock camps, fix ropes and provide support for the climb. This enables you to carry lighter weight and save your strength when you go for the summit bid. Climb High’s support, equipment and service are high quality in order to give you an outstanding chance to summit.

Our objectives:
Our main objective is to help you summit Dhaulagiri safely and at the same time enjoy it also. In order to achieve our goal, we will ensure you that you are properly prepared for the summit bid. On your request Climb High run’s a variety of mountaineering courses as a Dhaulagiri training program to prepare clients for the Dhaulagiri climb and we will take you to the summit of one of the high altitude peaks in the Annapurna region as a training peak.

It is also important to acclimatize properly to avoid altitude problems and to keep yourself healthy and fit. Climb High will make sure that you are properly acclimatized before you reach the base camp. We will start our acclimatization process to our highest acclimatization camp which is Camp 3 and from here we will make our attempt to summit Dhaulagiri.

Food:
Our food for the mountain is well prepared by our special trained cooks in order to give you the best balanced diet of fruit, green vegetables and lot’s of carbohydrates and proteins. Our cooks have undergone cooking trainings and can prepare you any food even at such high altitudes, which will really amaze you. We also make sure that they are prepared hygienically as we don’t want any one of our clients to feel sick. In addition there will be plenty of hot drinks, soups, tea and biscuits to eat.

Day 02: Rest day in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Rest day in Kathmandu.
Day 04: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
Day 05: Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom.
Day 06: Rest day in Jomsom.
Day 07: Trek to Alobari.
Day 08: Trek to Kalpani.
Day 09: Trek to Hidden valley.
Day 10: Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp.
Day 11-31: Climbing period of Dhaulagiri.
Day 32: Base camp to Hidden valley.
Day 33: Trek to Jomsom.
Day 34: Flight Jomsom to Pokhara.
Day 35: Drive to Kathmandu.
