Mount Kailash Trek (17 Days)
Mount Kailash which in the west of Tibet is one of the most sacred mountains in the world. Over a thousand years, pilgrims have journeyed here to pay homage to the mountain mystery circumambulating it in ancient ritual of devotion that continues till todate. For Hindus it is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, one of the Gods of Hindu Trinity and every Hindu longs for a holy dip in Mansarovar lake which is the seat of the legendary Rajhansa and blue lotus. "Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati stayed in this lake in the form of Rajhansin each others company for a thousand years" mentions Skanda Purana. For Buddhist circumambulance of Kailash one hundred and eight times makes one attain Nirvana-freedom from rebirth. The trek around Kailash takes three days and the highest point of the trek is crossing over Drol-ma pass which is at 5,550m.
